SYMMETRY

SYMMETRY: It is a quality of some shapes which some of their parts are reflections of others.

SYMMETRY AXIS: It is a line which divides a shape into two symmetric halves. Symmetric points are on a perpendicular line to it.

REFLECTION SYMMETRY: It is a shapes quality which is formed by two halves facing each other with an axis or fold line in between as if both sides where a mirrror images of each other.

CENTRAL SYMMETRY: It is the reflection of an object through a point called the symmetry center. Symmetric pair of points are colinear with the center.

TEXTURE

TEXTURE: it is the visual and tactile quality of the surfaces due to the material.

ARTIFICIAL TEXTURES: are those created by the human being manually or menically.

RUBBING TECHNIQUE: it consists on fractioning or rubbing a crayon.

TACTILE TEXTURES: are those that can be perceived through the sense of the touch.

VISUAL TEXTURES: those which can only be perceived through the sense of sight.

NATURAL TEXTURES: those that can be found in nature.

COLOR

WARM RANGE: it is a scale of colour that has el it her more yellow, ,ore agent or both in its mixture. They express warmth, energy youth ness or proximity.

COLD RANGE: it is a scale of colours that has more cían or blue in its mixture that any other colour. They are set on one side of the wall and trasmit the temperature sensation of coldness and distances.

GREY SCALE: It is a set of colours wich only has any color between black and white, it co

COMPLEMENTARY COLOR:are pairs of colour which are located one in front of each other on the colour wheel.ntains a scale of greys.

COLOR: it´s a basic element of visual language. It´s is a light impression that arrives to the eyes which send the information to the brain.

PIGMENT: it´s a sustant that make the materials for paint, it can be mineral, natural or artificial.

THERE ARE THE THREE PROPERTIES OF THE COLOUR:

HUE: also called tone or tint. It´s the name of the color defined by its wave.

SATURATION: degree of purity of a color. If acolor is very saturated it means that is very pure and doesn't have many color mix.

VALUE: sometimes called brightness or luminosity. it is the amount of black or white that a color has in its mix.

SHAPE

*natural shapes: they ate the ones related to nature they haven’t been created by any human
*artificial shapes: shapes which have been created by humans or Macha iCal procedures
*organic shapes: they are shapes that have irregular profile or silhouette as well s their inner surface. Organic shapes are usually natural even thoug they are sometimes artificial.
*flat shapes: they have two dimensions such a paper sheet a cinema screen or a canvas.
*form: they are volumetric shapes, they appear and are three dimensional.

THE LINE

TYPES OF LINES:
*line zig zag or broken lines: they are formed by several fragments of strisghts lines with different directions.
*wawy line: they are formed by several fragment of curved lines
*Curly line: they hold more curves than wawy lines and show loops
*Scribble: chaotic or meaninglengs lines that are traced rad owl yo of childhood or to fell in some area with a a particular texture.
*Hatching: it is a way of shading or giving to res to the areas of objects or surfaces with paralels lines
*Cross hatching : it is a way shedding areas of a drawing or surfaces with paralels lines.in several direction
*Dashed (or dated) lines: they are lines which are not continuos formed by little traces or dots
*Bluwed: they are very soft or vanished so they are hard to see an opposite to intense and deep
*Simpleminded lines: they are lines composed by fragment of several straight and curve lines
-EXPRESIONS OF LINES:
-vertical lines: they express an accident of descendent movement, depending on how they are used.
*horizontal lines: they produce visual feeling on stability and columnas or tranquility but they can be monotone if they are used too much
*skew lines expressiness: they produce unsteadiness and movement feeling.

THE DOT

The dot have got three dimension capacity:
-When the sizes shapes and adons are changed: the dots can create visual sensations of special deepens and volume.
-The dot expressive capacity: the point has an unlimited capacity to represent images and to express ideas and emotions.
-Optical mixs: color are mixed with help of distance. Paint isn’t mixed on the pallette or on the painting the optical mix was used first by the pointillist.

IMPORTANTS DEFINITIONS ABOUT ANGLES

Star polygon: is a polygon with a star shape, created from the union of non-consecutive vertices of a regular polygon.

Inscribed polygons: they are polygons place inside circles so all vertices of the polygon are placed on the circle.

Circumscribed: they are polygons that surround a circle, behind their sides to the inner circle.

Equiangular: all their corners, angles or vertices are equal.

Equilateral: all edges or sides are of the same length.

Regular: all their vertices, angles and sides are equals.

Irregular: show different angles and length for sides.

TYPES OF ANGLES

Complementary angles: they are couples of angle which sum is 90º.

Suplementary angles: they are couples of angles which sum is 180º.

Adjacent angles: They are angles that share one side and the vertex.

IMPORTANT DEFINITIONS ABOUT ANGLES

Parallels: They are lines which never intersect them selves, so all points are equidistant.

Perpendicular: They are lines which meet forming four right angles.

Oblique: They are lines aren’t parallels neither perpendicular.

Angle: It is a figure formed by two rays (sides of angle) sharing a comman end point (vertex).

VOCABULARY 3. IMPORTANT DEFINITIONS ABOUT CIRCLES

Circles: Set of points of the same distance (equidistant) to a point called centre.

Circunference: it is the full lengh of a circle. The complete distance around a circle.

Center: it is the point equidistant to any of the points on a circles.

Radius: it is the lengh of a line segment from the centre to perimetre.

Diameter: a line segment that passes though the center and conects two points of a circle.

Chord: a line segment which never intersect them selves so all points are equidistant.

Arc: line segment of a circle.

VOCABULARY 2. GEOMETRY. DRAWING AND SUPPLIES CONCEPTS AND DEFINITIONS

Freehand: Draw by hand without guiding instruments, measurement.

Line/Techinical drawing: It is a drawing made with the help of supplies. It is usually the kind of drawing used for architecture or enginer plans.

Compass: it is a tool of drawing circles and arcs and also for measuring distances between points, consisting of two arms linked by a hinge.

Protactor: an instruments for measuring or drawing angles or paper usually a flat semicircular transparent plastic sheet graduated in degrees.

Set squares (U.K) Triangles (U.S.A): They are two specials rulers with a triangle shape. One is called the 45º triangles (45º square, U.K) and the other the 30º/60º triangles. Both have 90º angle. So, they are used to draw certain angles and also to draw parallels lines.

Eraser (Rubber, U.K): Is an object such as a piece of rubber, used for deleting something.

Marker (Felt tip pen, U.K): A pen having a writing point made from pressed fibres.

Ruler: An instrument used to draw straight lines. Also called straight edge.

VOCABULARY 1 BASIC CONCEPTS AND DEFINITIONS

LINE : The line is a dimensional object formed infinite points . It hasn´t end and continues on forever in a plane.

RAY : It lines that begins in a point and there is not end.

MIND POINT : Is the point that is on the midle of a segment.

LINE SEGMENT : It is a line with two ends points.

LINE : The line is a dimensional object formed infinite points . It hasn´t end and continues on forever in a plane.

LENGTH : Measurement of something from end to end.

POINT : In geometry a point can be defined at places or localitation when two lines interseet . A point hasn´t got dimensions , non height and no with.

GEOMETRY: It is an area wich studies any elements and operations.
